Later this year, The National Archives will be introducing new funding opportunities for any galleries, libraries, archives or museums undertaking community-led research projects. This follows a generous £1 million award by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
The project, known as Spaces, Places and Belonging, will consist of training, events, resources and three grant schemes. We will also create an online knowledge platform which you can access when seeking resources on community engagement.

The grants schemes are as follows:
The National Archives has partnered with Leeds Museums & Galleries, the National Library of Wales/Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru and the Archives and Records Association’s Community Archives and Heritage Group to deliver this project, each of whom will deliver specific community-facing programmes in their sectors and regions.
The opening date for applications will be announced later in the spring.
