£10.5 million investment to transform Neasden Town Centre

Neasden Town Centre is set to be transformed as Brent Council’s Cabinet approved an investment of £10.5 million on 15 January 2025.

Last year, the Mayor of London announced £3.1 million in Civic Partnership Programme funding for Neasden. Brent Council matched this with £7.4 million, which will now be used together to transform Neasden Town Centre into a greener, safer and more accessible area for residents and visitors.

It will mean more green spaces, an rejuvenated high street, a new space for culture, community and enterprise, as well as extra crossings which will make the town centre more accessible for pedestrians and cyclists.

The £10.5m investment will also help fund the construction of "The Lighthouse" - a new meanwhile space which will act as both a community pavilion and beacon in the local area.

All of this will support the growth of Neasden and Staples Corner, which could together deliver up to 7,000 much needed new homes. Nearby neighbourhoods Wembley and Church End are also expected to benefit from regeneration and growth.

Councillor Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Growth said: “This is fantastic news for everyone that lives and works around Neasden. I am really pleased that we have secured such a large investment, and alongside council funding we can now look forward to a revitalised high street in the future. We will be working closely with our partners, local residents and businesses, to ensure that Neasden will benefit from a more connected and sustainable community.”

Jules Pipe, Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and the Fire Service said: “I’m delighted that LB Brent have secured the investment needed to deliver transformational change in Neasden Town Centre.  This project will give the local community an opportunity to shape how their town centre grows and will deliver a high quality sustainable public space for work and play, helping to build a fairer, greener and more prosperous London for all.”
