My name is Gregori and I am illustrator. I was born in Barcelona, which feels like another era entirely. After earning my degree in Information Sciences, I spent ten years as a creative director in advertising—where I sharpened my wit. In 2003, I swapped ad copy for collages, diving into the world of illustration. My work? Think of it as visual puzzles, made from countless photographs, all fitting together in ways that even surprise me. Since 2010, I've called London home, where I continue to create, tea in hand and always up for a new challenge.
Life is an unexpected experience, and being chosen to direct and illustrate this tv commercial for El País, the global newspaper, was a probe of it. When The Mushroom Company, my agents in Spain called me to let me know that SCPF, the internationally awarded advertising agency, wanted me to convert a childish animal sounds list into an critical audiovisual litany I could not believe it. It was one of the most challenging projects I ever got. Fortunately I assembled an amazing team who made it possible. Velvet, the well known production company based in Munich, managed by my dearest friend and acclaimed director Matthias Zentner, took responsibility of the animation part. And Monday Music, with the gifted Lucas Suarez, joined the party and made the music and sound design. A double privilege.
Dogs bark to communicate in their own way, while humans have conversations with words.
